OMT Trained Physiotherapist
An OMT trained physiotherapist has completed the OMT course which is an evidence based course grounded in the biopsychosocial management of patients with neuromusculoskeletal pain and dysfunctions.
The year long course covers the current approach to joint, muscle and peripheral neural tissue treatment, introduction to pain, communication skills, rehabilitation and movement control. The course is run over several modules. To qualify for a certificate, a national exam consisting of theoretical, practical and clinical components, as well as a research component, must be successfully completed.
Successful completion of this course qualifies you to become an Advanced Professional Development Level 2 member of the OMPTG.
At In-Balance Physiotherapy & Pilates, all our therapists have successfully completed their OMT course, and several of the team now lecture and assist on the course.
